Dolores Andral is an author who loves telling stories that help readers learn about the world and the people in it. She has an MFA from Queens University of Charlotte and writes about real people, important moments in history, and the experiences of young people. She also writes across genres and age groups. Her books include a Sports Illustrated Kids book about athletes who made an impact both on and off the field, a dance competition story in the Maddox Sports Stories series, two graphic novels in the Girls Survive series, two books in the What You Never Knew series featuring Selena Gomez and Harry Styles, and a picture book illustrated by her husband.
Before becoming an author, Dolores spent ten years working as a preschool teacher, where she discovered how much she loved sharing stories with children. That experience continues to shape the way she writes. She believes it’s important for children to see themselves in the books they read, and she hopes her books encourage young readers to be curious, ask questions, and learn something new.
At home, Dolores’s husband and children are some of her first readers—and they never seem to tire of reading and rereading her drafts. Of course, she has been known to offer sweet rewards along the way!
